V enue Coordinator
Ally, our Venue Coordinator, is excited to showcase Mathwig as the perfect, rustic venue that brides have always had in mind. Ally grew up in the Philadelphia area but moved to Thurmont after meeting her husband Matt in college at Shepherd University. She has a bachelor’s degree in music, but over the past few years she has found a passion for event marketing and management. In addition to being our Venue Coordinator, she is also the Farm Manager for our sister property, Magnolia Meadow Farms and our guesthouse, Magnolia Meadow Manor. In her free time, she enjoys making music with friends and spending time with her family and her dog, Gemma.

Our stunning 108 acre estate is located in Frederick County is a picturesque location for weddings and private events. The rustic, country barn has been carefully restored with wood floors, beaming, soft lighting and can comfortably fit 150 guests. The beautiful grounds are nestled a the base of the Catoctin Mountains and surrounded by farmland, making it the perfect backdrop for memorable photos that will last a lifetime.
The Location
Mathwig Wedding Barn is a unique wedding and event venue located in northern Frederick County, Maryland and within a convenient driving distance from Baltimore, Washington D.C., and Harrisburg. Our stunning 108-acre estate is a picturesque location for wedding ceremonies, receptions, and private events. It is our goal to provide an authentic, country experience that is both elegant and timeless for your special day.
The Barn
The rustic barn has been carefully restored with wood floors, beaming, and soft lighting. With the included farm tables, benches, and chairs, the barn can comfortably fit up to 150 guests. Partner with one of our preferred caterers to serve a delicious meal, then cue your DJ or live band to dance the night away. The beautiful grounds are nestled at the base of the Catoctin Mountains and surrounded by farmland, making it the perfect backdrop for memorable photos that will last a lifetime. Just wait until the sun sets behind the mountains and the barn is lit up from within… it’s a sight you don’t want to miss!
Lodging
Our nearby guesthouse, Magnolia Meadow Manor is located just up the road from the barn and can provide lodging for those traveling from out-of-town. Couples can reserve the home to use as a place to get ready with their bridal party, as a venue for a family-style rehearsal dinner, and newlyweds may choose to stay the night after their wedding. Magnolia Meadow Manor sits on a sprawling 22 acres and is a true farmhouse with privacy and beautiful views of the mountains. The Manor accommodates up to 10 guests and includes amenities such as a large, bright kitchen and laundry. We would love to be your home for the weekend!
